Recently, Digul Mas, a vessel operated by Indonesian listed shipping company TEMAS Group, successfully completed its commercial maiden voyage and officially entered service on the route connecting Surabaya, Kendari, and Gorontalo in Indonesia. Digul Mas is the first vessel in TEMAS Group's planned fleet of eight green LNG-powered container ships. With a capacity of 488 TEU for standard dry container cargo, the vessel is primarily tasked with inter-island container logistics in Indonesia. It adopts electric propulsion combined with an LNG single-fuel power system and officially entered commercial operation in Indonesia in August 2026, focusing on container transport among the eastern islands. The remaining seven sister green vessels are expected to be fully commissioned by 2027, continuously expanding the clean-energy cargo fleet.

China Classification Society conducted a specialized risk assessment for the tank-on-deck application, with CIMC Enric deeply involved in technical validation and review to ensure full compliance and operational safety of this novel power model.

On the upstream energy supply side, the 5 MMSCFD skid-mounted LNG liquefaction plant built by CIMC Enric 's subsidiary Zhangjiagang CIMC Sanctum was officially put into operation in Surabaya, Indonesia, in May 2026. The plant integrates natural gas pretreatment, liquefaction, storage, truck loading, and full utility systems. The produced LNG can be directly filled into CIMC Enric 's self-developed marine LNG fuel tank containers, ensuring a stable supply for Digul Mas and the entire TEMAS clean-energy fleet. This successfully closes the complete loop of local liquefaction - tank filling - multimodal transshipment - vessel tank swapping.

Indonesia, with its myriad islands and robust inter-island shipping demand, faces insufficient natural gas pipeline coverage and high costs for building large LNG bunkering terminals, making traditional clean-energy shipping models difficult to popularize.
